Symposium 'User Involvement in Linked Cultural Data'

Op 7 februari 2010 organiseert de Web&Media groep aan de Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam een symposium over het onderwerp ‘User Involvement in Linked Cultural Data Symposium’. De voertaal is Engels.
Three prominent speakers will talk about their experiences with users and linked data in the cultural heritage domain:
- Anthony Jameson, from DFKI, will demonstrate and discuss a new web-based interface that represents a hierarchy of interrelated events with their associated media and user comments.
- Tsvi Kuflik, from University of Haifa, will present the research involved with the mobile museum visitor's guide developed within the PIL project with respect to context-aware interaction mechanisms. Additionally, he will also talk about recent research direction regarding the application of social signal processing for group modeling and the application of interrupt management in the museum visit scenario.
- Jill Cousins, from National Library of the Netherlands, will talk about "The European Library" Europeana.eu and its current and future developments.
As part of the program Yiwen Wang and Natalia Stash will demonstrate the results of the CHIP project (Cultural Heritage Information Presentation) funded by Dutch Science Foundation NWO-CATCH (Continuous Access to Cultural Heritage) program and realized as a collaboration with the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.
